WORD OF MOUTH IS SOCIAL!
Shopping advice: more and more consumers rely on the web.
It is a widespread belief that word of mouth is the best convincing form of communication. The survey named “Social Recommendation Index”, conducted at the end of the year 2013 by the American agency Social Media Link, confirms such an opinion and reveals that the word of mouth is more and more “social”.

As a matter of fact, 92% of the social media users interviewed (10,337 cases) declared they use the recommendations expressed on the web to find their way about in the wide world of purchases, while only 47% trust television, press and bills.

People respectively like best the experiences of relatives and friends (86%), experts (58%) and bloggers (39%). As for reviews on products and services, Facebook is the best reliable platform (68%), followed by blogs and dealers’ websites (both at 63%).

What drives people to spread their opinions online? 78% of the respondents make it to express their consumption satisfaction, whereas 47% of them want to warn others against nasty surprises. Around the same percentage of respondents admit the sheer desire to share their opinion, whilst 43% of them want to help others be informed.
